it’s been a frenetic few weeks here at gremmie.net. with the basement now running on all cylinders, goof and i have been busy putting out small fires while simultaneously adding kindle to the pile. this morning we’ve added the box set Hallucinogenic Recipe. spanning 5 discs, the set reads like an early history of Pearl Jam with demos from Mother Love Bone, Green River, and the Gossman Project. on a personal note, this box set was my holy grail as a teenager. my local record store displayed it behind the counter on the top shelf; it stood 4 feet higher than my sight-line. even though i couldn’t afford the $150 price tag, like clockwork i always checked to see if it was still available each time i walked in. my primitive, pubescent brain took comfort in knowing that even if i couldn’t afford it, no one else could either. kids, kids.

thanks so much for putting this up! it was my “holy grail” when i was a teenager as well 🙂 my story was much like yours, i checked to make sure it was still there every time i visited our local independent record store, wishing i could buy it and hoping no one else did. haha. i saved babysitting money for one whole summer and finally managed the $120 they wanted for it. it was my prized possession until we had a house fire in 1999. i was never able to find it again, and thought i would never hear it again. you made my day with this posting! thanks a million 🙂
